My friend Richard Harland Smith, who among other things writes for movie morlocks , came across this photo in the course of doing some research on the young lad on the left, who went on to an acting career.

Name the two kids:

I'll go for someone called Terry?

Aggh, and you Brits fancy yourselves such game-meisters, what with your Guardian and Observer puzzles! Pah!

I'd be astonished if someone came up with the actor, but his diminuative friend should be possible.

Richard, what's the status with the MIMEO disc?

kid on the left looks like robert guillaume...

I only thought it would be somone called Terry as the url for the pic includes the words Old-terry...!

I hope to have the MIMEO out for the end of March Brian. Emailing Mr Rowe this evening as it happens...

For now you have a shiny copy of Halliwell/Korber en route to you and that'll have to do!

Cool, thanks Richard. Sounds like a fine combo.

Not Robert Guillaume. Pinnell correctly sussed the "Terry".

I would think surmising a musical background for one of these lads would be, er... key.

ahh, you guys suck. The young gent on the left is Terry Carter, who would go on to star in such classics as "Foxy Brown". His wiry little buddy is....

Cecil Taylor.

It's also worth noting that Terry Carter was one of the first (if not the first) black news anchors in American broadcasting history.

You'll never believe this now I say it, but whilst sat in a traffic jam this morning wearily heading off to work I settled on Cecil Taylor following Richard H-S's hint with "key"

Anyway what prize did I win for getting the Terry part of Terry Carter? (even if I have never heard of him!)

More competitions please, much better than all that boring writing :)

Wha...? Never heard of him. And where were you when Battlestar Galactica was on? (The original, velour-heavy version, I mean.)
