Out of action for a few days as I go to have these two cool percussion instruments implanted in my pelvis.

Back mid-next week, I imagine, see you then.

Oh, very best wishes Brian, I hope all goes smoothly. I envy all the fun you will have at airport customs in the future ;)

They apparently give a little card to carry around and present at airport security gates. Should be fun...

thanks!

yeah I was gonna say, enjoy your future TSA experiences. If the fancy new gear yr getting is anything like what my father has, the TSA will ignore the card and wave wands all about you until they are convinced they should actually read the card.

I actually had to ask a doctor exactly what you were getting here. He wasn't an orthopedic specialist, but he did say that many of the newer prosthetics used in these surgeries are made of alloys that don't trigger metal detectors. He also said that it's more of a concern because some of them will prohibit MRIs in the future. Anyway, following closely because I've been informed that I will probably need the same procedure in a couple of years. I wish you all the best recovery, and look forward to reading your continued musical adventures.
