(drawing of Toshi Nakamura done last evening at Issue Project Room in virtual darkness)
A fine solo set, not sure I can say much about it, except how wide-ranging and
tough it was. Sometimes shaky, sometimes brimming with confidence, a huge panoply of frequencies from ultrahigh, just within the range of hearing to phlebitis-threatening subsonics. Toshi sitting motionless, as always. When he hit a groove (in a sense), as he did three or four times during the performance, time stood still.

Is that a bottle of wine on his table?
Hey this is Toshi we're talkin' about! Beer!
Heh, well yes of course. I was thrown off by the size: must be a 22!
damn employment taking me out of town. I've really loved the most recent Toshi discs, too...argh.
Hey, I could barely see the paper I was drawing on--happy it more or less resembles a bottle!
Billy, think you would have enjoyed...
It's a great sketch Brian, no fear. Reminds me a bit of Picasso sketches, or maybe even more-so like those Twombly chalkboard looking drawings if he'd done any figurative work in that style.
